Discipline is a scary word. It’s easy to associate it with punishment for doing something wrong. But discipline is not punishment. It’s guidance.
It means choosing a path and sticking to it even when it’s painful or inconvenient.
“No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.” Hebrews 12:11 (NLT)
