Intro | What is Advent?

The term “Advent” may not be familiar to you, but the Christmas season certainly comes as no surprise to our schedule. The concept of Advent is a preparation, longing, and anticipation of the coming Christ.

As we prepare our hearts to celebrate this Christmas, let’s come with new perspective, new hope, and new anticipation. Our prayer is that your season will be filled with more of Jesus. Advent reminds us just as Jesus came into the world the first time, He has promised He will come again.

At my house, we have added a simple saying to the coming weeks. “Christ has come! Christ will come again!” Consider adding this phrase into your holiday traditions and make it responsive with your family (where one person says the first part and the others say the second). Each time you say it, allow your heart to long for the day when Jesus will return to fully eliminate sin, evil, and death.

2 Peter 3:13 NLT
But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

Christ has come! Christ will come again!

Blessings,
Pastor Chad
