13“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.

14 He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom;
he snapped their chains.

15 Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.

16 For he broke down their prison gates of bronze;
he cut apart their bars of iron.

What a testament to what God can do to pull us out of gloom and doom and use us in fulfilling spreading the gospel to all men and women. My big brother’s testimony is a Navy recruit living away from home for the first time and he and 3 other sailors are out parting and ended up on a beach on the Mexico-US border and the sunrise woke him and he went to his car for a pack of smokes.
