What Does the Gospel Have to do with Racism?

https://youtu.be/MosO0oOgD9E

Pastor Brandon Washington pastors the Embassy Church in Denver, CO. He sat down with our own Pastor Chad to help us better understand the ways personal and systemic racism still affect the daily lives of our brothers and sisters. We asked him what his experience has been as a large, Black, man in the U.S. and he had some shocking stories.

But he is not angry. He believes the Gospel and the Bible have a lot to teach us about how to deal with racism in our country and in our hearts.

You can follow Pastor Brandon on Twitter or learn more about his church.

You can learn even more about race and faith by reading one of these 7 books.

We are ALL God’s children. Why don’t more evangelists preach the Gospel of oneness? Instead they are distancing themselves and us from the one true God.

God doesn’t see color and I’m so glad I wasn’t raised to see it also.

Of course God sees color. He gave us all that is good. If we do not see color we miss the beauty he has bestowed upon us. We would also miss the opportunity to understand how another’s life might be different from our own based on how God made them. None of us are immune from prejudice and bias. We must look into our own hearts to see where we fall short. If we do not, we will not be effective participants in a world that needs to be urged towards justice and love.
