Although the movie is only in the preproduction phase, the creators are following the crowdfunded model similar to “The Chosen.” This means they can bypass the demands of big studies and tell the honest, and truthful story of King David.

This makes me cringe. Never been a big fan of David, but love how God chose him. They make cartoons so dramatic, it’s kind of annoying. Hmm, maybe I’ll change my mind if I see more? I’m struggling with how he could be “a man after God’s own heart” yet he commited so many terrible sins afterwards. I know we shouldn’t judge others by their mistakes, but the fact that he was so big in God’s eyes… I don’t get that? I read in the Bible that our rewards in heaven depend on what we did on earth. It is often hard for us as limited humans to understand the depths of God’s grace, love,and mercy. It is easier for us to understand the justice side if him because justice has clearcut rules, borders, and consequences that we can box and wrap up neatly. God sent his Son Jesus to suffer and die in place of our sins and punishment so that God can forgive it as paid in full and look past it to our hearts. David is prime example of how man is fallible and sinful. God called David to greatness and blessed his life in numerous ways but sadly David fell from grace because of lust and power. God keeps his promises and gives us so many chances to repent and change for the better. In the end David did repent but would not fulfill his mission to build the Temple.
