As I listen to Toby speak of his son, my heart is crying for mine. 2021 was a year of heart break for our family as we watched our oldest son walk through mental illness. He entered the hospital system as they tried and failed to help his Schizophrenia. On Sept 19, 2021 he escaped the hospital and took his own life without our knowledge. We never found out our son died until 2 days later, after they transported him to Nashville. My heart has been shattered and grapples with the why. Understanding of grief through another family’s 💔 🙏 is helpful. We’ve only just lost the father of my children. Praise God it was peaceful and our Oldest daughter & I were present. He’s no longer suffering.
