How a “Sanctified Nicholas Sparks” Love Life Is Possible | Baylor Wilson

Get ready to take notes because Baylor Wilson is dropping some major dating truths! She says if she could tell her younger self anything it would be to wait upon the Lord.

Psalm 27:14 tells us, “Wait patiently for the LordBe brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” That’s easier said than done sometimes, but it would save us a lot of unnecessary heartache if we trusted God in the waiting instead of trying to make things happen for ourselves.

Baylor’s relationship with her husband looks drastically different than relationships she’s had in the past. “My relationship now was like a sanctified Nicholas Sparks movie and that’s what I always wanted, but I didn’t know if I deserved it or if there were guys like that out there.”

Baylor uses the illustration of running a race where Jesus is the finish line – If someone comes alongside you that can keep up with the same goals and intentions as you, see if you two intersect and can run the race together.

“I believe it’s God’s will for you to run this race of faith towards the prize who is Jesus. It’s hard but it’s beautiful.”

We’re so thankful for this reminder that while dating and waiting can be tough, God’s best will be so much better than anything we could come up with.
