Tara-Leigh Cobble Shares Why It’s Hard to Read the Bible

Tara Leigh Cobble, of The Bible Recap, shares why she struggled to read the Bible.

“I had never, even as someone who met Jesus at a really young age, read the whole Bible. I kept hitting the wall of the Old Testament story not making sense to me.”

Maybe you can relate to hitting the Old Testament slump. It can be hard to read, especially if you don’t understand it’s significance. TLC shares that it wasn’t until someone came alongside her to answer her questions about scripture that she was really able to appreciate it and find it a joy to read instead of a chore.

Pastor Chad shares that for him, it was listening to the scripture that allowed him to focus on the story of the Bible in full context instead of verse by verse nuggets.

If you’ve ever felt guilty for not reading the Bible as much as you think you should… maybe the problem is just knowing where to start! That’s why we created the On Ramp Daily Bible Reading podcast. Each weekday we post a reading of one chapter of the Bible. In just 5 or 10 minutes, you can begin a daily Bible reading habit!

I started her Bible recap podcast in January and she has been such a blessing to me explaining the Bible the way she does and sharing how God is where the joy is! January 23 I was hit with the most devastating news that rocked my world and if I hadn’t… Read more »
