Jon Steingard has been a Christian for all of his life. Until now.
He’s the lead singer for the Christian band Hawk Nelson, but he recently made a post on Instagram announcing his loss of faith.
We sat down with Jon about his story, asked hime some hard questions, and listened with love to his answers.
Thank you for posting this. I just watched the interview. Great job Rob! It always saddens me when Christians publicly leave the faith. I think what’s different about Jon is his heart. He doesn’t seem bitter. He seems really sad about circumstances in this world. As a mom who’s still raising sons I also think about his parents and how heartbroken they must be. That would be tough to deal with. I will be praying for Jon and his family.
I feel Jon has a wonderful heart but he’s lost because of the way he grew up in the church. I feel he is still trying hard to find Christ because he has true conviction. I feel if he keeps with his true Christian freinds he will eventually find what he’s looking for in faith. I’m truly praying that the holy spirit falls on him and he comes back better than ever.
Thanks, Rob for letting us hear John’s heart. I admire his genuineness, and I too pray that he will find the genuine truth he is seeking. I trust God’s faithfulness and love for John and for us all as we seek to try to wrap our minds and our faith around the hatred and injustice and confusion of this world. I do believe that our God is a Revealer and a Comforter.
