Amy Grant Becomes First Christian Artist to be Recognized at the Kennedy Center Honors

Every year, the Kennedy Center honors individuals who have left their mark on American culture through the performing arts.

This year was a big win for Contemporary Christian Music. Our very own Queen of Christian pop, Amy Grant, is one of the honorees. Making her the first Christian artist to be recognized by the Kennedy Center.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine ever receiving this prestigious Kennedy Center Honors. Through the years, I’ve watched so many of my heroes serenaded by colleagues and fellow artists, always moved by the ability of music and film to bring us together and to see the best in each other. I cannot wait to celebrate with my fellow honorees, friends, and family. Thank you for widening the circle to include all of us.” – Amy Grant

And though she has certainly had a successful music career with 6 Grammy Awards, 26 Dove Awards and her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (just to name a few). Amy’s 40-year career was more than just awards and concerts, she has touched so many lives with her music and her life.

To celebrate just that, she was honored with performances of a few of her classics from Michael W. Smith and BeBe & CeCe Winans.

We are so proud of Amy Grant and can’t wait to see how God continues to use you.
