New Years resolutions come and go, but choosing a song for your year creates an anthem. Each one of these songs can be a prayer directly from you to God. See which one fits your current situation and dedicate it as your 2022 song of the year!
1. CeCe Winans “Believe For It”
This is my personal theme song for 2022! If you want your trust in God to be strengthened, this is the song to listen to over and over. We can be confident in Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Sometimes we just have to pray in faith and believe for it.
2. Maverick City “Promises”
If anxiety is something you want to deal with this year, this is a perfect theme song for you! It reminds our hearts of who our God is.
“Great is Your faithfulness to me
From the rising sun to the setting same
I will praise Your name
Great is Your faithfulness to me”
3. Sanctus Real “My God is Still the Same”
Any situation in your life looks smaller and less scary in light of how big our God is! This song will keep reminding you of the power of the God you serve!
“When did He break His promise?
When did His kindness fail?
Never has, never will”
4. Tasha Layton “Look What You’ve Done”
If you want a heart of praise and gratitude this year, Tasha Layton has the song for you! I cannot help but belt this song out in my car and remember the ways God has changed me and worked in my life. When the world says we need to look forward and forget what is behind, this song helps us remember the good God has already done!
5. Evan Craft ft. Danny Gokey “Be Alright”
This song could be your prayer to God all year. If you have faced some very difficult struggles, these lyrics could be the message of your heart.
“Give me faith to believe You are on my side
Open my eyes to see You working in my life
Let the past remind me You never fail
Tell my soul “It is well”
6. Jordan St. Cyr “Weary Traveler”
This song puts the focus on the future and God making everything right one day. If you are feeling worn down and simply need to know that God sees your hurt and will making all things new, this is your song!
7. Chris Tomlin “Thank You Lord”
This fun song has a celebratory sound! You can be praising God and thanking him for the blessings in your life all year long!
